JOSS & JANIK'S DESTINATION WEDDING IN THE RIVIERA MAYA AT BLUE VENADO

Our hearts were set on making our wedding day the perfect mix of our personalities, full of storytelling moments and nods to both of our cultures.  This film is emotional, fun & dynamic and this event took place in March.
The Highlight Film:

In the Riviera Maya, you can go for a wedding in a fancy all-inclusive resort or in a stunning private venue. We always knew we would go for a private venue and Blue Venado was exactly what we were looking for. Tucked away in its own slice of heaven, this place is so private and charming.
Our priorities for our destination wedding in the riviera maya were simple: get the vibe right, capture every moment, and have awesome videos and photos to remember the day. The vibe was definitely right, we celebrated at a secluded beach and lush surroundings that made it feel like our personal haven. We chose Juan Trujillo as our wedding photographer and could not be happier with that decision, he captured every special moment and the colours of his photos are incredible. And then there's the video. Naturally it was something we were extremely picky about, so we hired our friend José Miranda (a fellow wedding filmmaker) joined by Victor Menchaca as our cameramen for the day, they captured our wedding with the help of our own equipment. At the end of the day they gave us the raw footage and Janik took charge of the post-production process, pouring his heart into every cut mixing footage form our wedding with older films we had recorded ourselves from our trips around the world! Additionally, a few days after our wedding we recorded our own portrait session in Bacalar, that helped us showcase visually how we had now transformed into a married couple. Some weeks later Janik surprised me with the final product, and boy, did I cry! His storytelling skills brought our day back to life, frame by frame and I could not be more in awe of his talent, I feel so lucky I got to marry such a talented and beautiful man. And I still cannot stop re-watching the video of our wedding every day! Now for the details about the wedding: Our wedding kicked off with a mariachi welcome for our guests, setting the tone for a day full of dance. Then came the moment we'd been waiting for – our symbolic ceremony. And it was like a dream. Officiated by Paulina de los Santos, who also happens to be a dear friend of ours, the ceremony was everything we hoped for. The words she spoke, the promises we made they will forever remain in our hearts.
And just like a typical German wedding, the day was full of surprises! Janik's mom held a surprised sand ceremony in Spanish! And his sister got creative with a hilarious parody video about us.
Now you may or may not know that we're both hip-hop dancers and choreographers, and that's actually how we first met in Los Angeles. So, we had to bring some of that magic to our big day, and we turned our wedding into a mini hip-hop show.  The day was full of love, joy, and surprises our destination wedding in the riviera maya was more than just a ceremony – it was a celebration of us, our journey, and the people who mean the world to us.
